    I've been in OKC for about a year and this is the best Asian I've had here to date. My girlfriend and I shared two entrees, the pan fried noodles and the eggplant with chicken. Both were great, very flavorful and satisfying. The service was good for us, so it sounds like they may have ironed out the service issues mentioned in earlier reviews.

    You could call me a novice when it comes to trying new restaurants but I am sure glad I did. From the first step into the restaurant you can tell that a lot of time and attention was taken to make this not just another asian restaurant. The owners went over the top to make this feel more upscale. The food left nothing to be desired as well. We started with the fresh spring rolls, now I have had spring rolls before but these were no ordinary spring roll. I usually do not like the pok in them and end up pulling it out but the pork in these were tender and very flavorful. The peanut sauce was a little different than I am used to it was served hot and had a thinner consistency than usual but very much enjoyable. I decided on the vegetable lo mein with beef and was blown away with how fresh and vibrant the dish was. It is very obvious that the chef has a true passion for his food and expects nothing but the best to leave his kitchen. Overall I was very impressed with the decor and quality of food at 7 asian bistro. Can't wait to go back and try something new....

    I got the fried noodles w/ shrimp for dinner, a HUGE portion for only $10. The shrimp was very fresh, large too, wonderful texture. I'd never had the fried noodles before so I was a bit apprehensive, but very pleased with what I got. I was expecting a plate full of the noodles you crunch up over egg drop soup, but in reality not all the noodles were crispy, so you got a nice texture contrast between the 2. My wife got the IIV Spicy Chicken which was wonderful. Think sweet & sour chicken minus the excessively breaded/chewy mass surrounding it. Instead you got fresh cubed chicken breast, flash fried to get a nice crunch on it, then tossed in an addictive spicy/sweet sauce. I'm very glad the owners of the WokStop food truck decided to open up this place too.

    The food and atmosphere are great. I had the ginger chicken with broccoli and steamed brown rice. My friend had the almond cashew chicken. This was our first time visiting the VII Asian Bistro and we will be returning again soon. (ID # 0073195)

    Visited Friday, June 7 for a late lunch (around 2 pm). The decor is lovely, the owner very pretty and sweet. I ordered White Pear tea and she came around to ask what I thought of it; she said it's her second favorite tea they offer and that if I came back, I should try Dragon Oolong tea (which I definitely plan to do). Our table had the spring rolls, very fresh with excellent peanut sauce; almond chicken, brown rice, pepper steak, hot and sour soup. All of the food was PIPING hot, which was so nice. I hate getting lukewarm food in restaurants. One more thing; we were the only non-Asians in the place, which always means to me that the food is at least semi-authentic. Definitely plan to return for some pho; the adjacent table had some and the huge piles of fresh veggies looked wonderful.

    Eager to try a new Asian fusion restaurant. I'm really lenient when it comes to service, but this was a textbook instance of bad service. Orders taken, drinks provided, all was well in the world. Ordered four spring rolls, were only brought two. Server didn't ask if we needed anything. Realizing the other rolls weren't coming, we pointed out that we ordered four instead of two. The lost pair of rolls eventually made their way to our table. Then my buddy and I were brought our entrees. Server departed, I presumed, to bring the soup dishes ordered by our wives (Egg noodle & pho). He actually went MIA and we were chatting away before realizing the ladiez didn't have their soup. I don't like it when they forget my lady's soup. Tracked down a server, he said the kitchen people had problems "?" and headed that way to retrieve our order. Original server returned to our table and asked if all was well. We informed him it was not. Now, it should have dawned on him during the previous fifteen minutes by simply glancing at our table and seeing nothing on the table before the ladiez that something was amiss. But, this seemed to escape his grasp. I won't cover the blow-by-blow, but four servers, eight conversations, and a whirlwind of chaos and time later, two soups made their way to our table. The half hour lunch turned into an hour and a half. The most bizarre part was that our table became a spectacle to which the waitstaff was completely oblivious. Patrons at the surrounding tables actually stopped talking and turned their attention to our table to tune into the next exciting chapter of VII Asian Bistro and the Case of the Missing Soup. It left smiles on their faces, but we were rather irked. I think everyone else was amazed how bungled the situation had become. Couldn't have been designed any worse. The food was acceptable, but mediocre at best: two and a half stars. The service pulls it down to only one star. Disastrous. I wouldn't anticipate a repeat of this performance, but it happened to us. So, there you have it. WARNING! VII Bistro has plates with condiments on each table featuring a lidded container of pickled chilis teetering on the plate's edge. This will likely tip off the plate and spill onto the table dousing anyone near it. Ours dumped onto the table by mere chance. I narrowly escaped getting pickled. Carefully remove the container from the plate and set it onto the table as soon as you are seated.

    Ok, this place was pretty awesome. First, the decor: Big space, but spread out so you don't feel like you're rattling around OR like you're crowded. A huge red wall, some wood paneled walls, some art-- a nice place to look at while you eat. My husband and I both got different bowls of pho. I got the smallest size (with all the beef options) and wasn't able to eat more than a third of it. He got a larger size and... well, he ate most of it, but I feel like their large size could feed a full family, and it's for a VERY reasonable price. The pho itself was awesome. Tons of noodles, tons of meat, and a really good, rich, flavorful broth. The broth had a great mouthfeel too-- it wasn't wimpy at all, you could tell it was simmered with cow goodness for a nice long time. The variety of meats were all really high quality, and a great flavor combo. The pho came out with the meat on top still super rare-- I suppose you could eat it that way if you want, but I swished mine in my bowl to get it less pink. I think the thing I was most impressed with was the quality of the tendon. There were a few spots that were chewy in an unpleasant way, but most of the tendon had just the perfect amount of gooey give (like a noodle, but better) and transmitted the savory broth texture pretty well. The tripe was meh-- it has a fun texture, but it wasn't seasoned in anything other than the broth, so it was just sort of... there. The actual "meat" cuts were super yummy and intensely flavorful. They also have a pretty good drink selection-- nothing alcoholic that I noticed, but I had an awesome pickled lemonade that was both refreshing and ever so slightly salty. I'm still craving it, actually. Also, I know service varies with the day at most places, but our service was really good. We had a super friendly waitress who was helpful with suggestions, but without pressuring us.

    VII Asian Bistro, in my opinion, is probably the best restaurant to get pho in Asian district. The staff are friendly, the decor is beautiful, and the food is really good! Admittedly, their pho is a little pricier than other pho places around such as Pho Cuong or Pho Lien Hoa, but I feel like that extra 2 dollars was well worth it. I order my usual Pho Tai Chi(rare steak and flank) and the meat was soooooo tender, I loved it. The broth was very flavorful, and has yet to disappoint me. I've only had a few of their rice dishes, but they're not bad! A little pricy if you ask me, but to be honest, I normally don't stray away from my normal pho cravings, haha. Also another plus to this place, it's relatively quiet. I've actually brought my laptop and did some studying here after enjoying a nice large bowl of pho. Another good thing is that you don't come out of the restaurant smelling like food! That reason alone is one of my big pet peeves on deciding to what Asian restaurants to go to. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone who is looking for good pho in the city!

    I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food at VII! As a frequent connoisseur of pho, I hadn't tried VII yet...but with today being a rainy day, I thought it was perfect! I'm a "broth first" kinda gal when it comes to pho, and this broth definitely didn't let me down. It was very flavorful! The service is great and the restaurant is clean and has a nice atmosphere. I perused the rest of the menu and I'm excited to go back to try some of their other offerings. If you're into pho, I'd definitely recommend this place! And as a bonus, they accept cards!! ;)

    We love Asian bistro VII. It's our go-to pho place. The ingredients are always very fresh and their broth seems to be more flavorful than other pho places in the area. The atmosphere is relaxed and very clean. Management has always been friendly and helpful! Try it out!

    I haven't done reviews in a while but I have been going to this place since it opened. I usually get a bowl of pho(Traditional Vietnamese noodle soup) or a bowl of Bun Bo Hue(Spicy beef noodles). I love the both how it comes out so rich and flavorful. The best part is the meat/noodle ratio is perfect! A good amount of both meat with just the right amount of noodles to take in all the meaty goodness. The noodle also come out seperated for easy enjoyment unlike some other establishments who leave thier noodle clumped up and you have to spend time breaking up to fit in a bite. Today me and my wife came a bit late right before closing time and ordered To Go and I got to say it was just as good as dining in. Can't FORGET the staff. The owners and staff are awesome, so friendly and always cheerful! Thank You

    I will preface this with the fact that I am a pho aficionado and have been eating my way through the Pho in town. First off, the place is very clean and modern and I really enjoyed the overall look of the restaurant. The menu is a little more broad than I would like to see but that is probably b/c a lot of white people only like certain "classical" asian dishes. The Pho took a good while to come out, but at first glance the broth was clear but a little more yellow than I am used to. The broth had a nice clean flavor to it, not too greasy, and you could tell it was well done. However, the broth didn't have the depth of flavor that I am used to and it may be that they don't use the bone or multiple cuts of meat in their broth. The beef and tendon balls were very good. I am a big fan of meatballs in my pho, along with tendon and tripe, but these balls were well above average and I enjoyed them quite well. This isn't the best pho I have had, Pho Lien Hoa is still leading, but it was def above average. The service was also a little lack luster, as we waited about 25 mins to get our check.There was only one waitress on staff so I can't blame her for the lack of staffing. She did her best. All in all, not bad. All the best

    This place is pretty solid and may have the best Pho in town. We ordered hot and sour soup, 2 pho dishes, spring rolls, and egg rolls. Not sure if the cooks/chef taste their food because the soup we got was extremely salty to the point of unbearable. Egg rolls weren't as salty but definitely salty. I'm 99% sure the cooks/chef did not taste these 2 items before giving them out because if they did they wouldn't have served them. Otherwise the pho is probably top 3 in town. The flavors are much richer than Pho Lien Hoa! The meat, tripe, and other rare meats are WAY better as well. So if you just order the Pho- you will be happy! Customer service was the best in the Asian district. Summary: Get the pho- one of the best in town, but probably not so much the other stuff. Excellent service.

    Maybe the best vermicelli bowls in town! I prefer the one with spring rolls. Soups are also good - miso, hot and sour, and their pho. The lunch specials are wonderful too, with the spicy Asian chicken as my favorite. Brown or white rice as choices, plus miso soup...all for 8 bucks! Beat that!

    This restaurant has really improved since my last visit. The dining room is very clean and spacious. They have a few paintings hanging on the walls that I would love to own! Especially the one of Ha Long Bay, Vietnam! I got some egg noodles (M1) and it was amazing! I ate everything including all the broth! The veggies you get with the soup are fresh and you get plenty of meats. Some restaurants can get stingy when it comes to shrimp and pork but not VII Asian Bistro. The rice plates (com tam) are still disappointing. I would recommend staying away from it. I've had better. Their noodle entrees are much better here! Doesn't matter if it's mi, pho, or vermicelli.....they're all good!

    As soon as I walked in the door I felt welcomed! This place offers extreme hospitality and kindness. They all truly enjoy their jobs and the atmosphere. Not too mention the food was absolutely tremendous! I will definitely recommend this place to all my friends and family! I had the lettuce wraps and the spicy chicken, one word to sum it up; superb!     There was a time when I would have said this was the #2 pho restaurant in OKC behind Pho Lien Hoa. But in the last six months VII has moved solidly into the top spot for me. Their consistency can't be beat and the broth is absolutely perfect. The spring rolls are the best in town hands down. The produce is extremely fresh, always. The staff is very friendly also. And I hate to put down other local Vietnamese restaurants, (where turning a blind eye to cleanliness is often part of the dining experience) but VII is far superior. I've sneaked a peek at the kitchen a few times and am 100% confident in the cleanliness and trust the food preparation and handling procedures. If you have never had pho or would like to upgrade your current pho experience, make sure to go to VII.

    Been here three times for pho and at least twenty times for Bun Bo. Their Bun Bo Hue is pretty yummy. They will tell you pho is their specialty but yet it isn't. The place is cute and decorated very nicely but I don't think pho here is great.

    I don't know why there are so many bad reviews for this place. I came to OKC a month ago for my vacation and decided to take my family out for dinner. The service was good and welcoming. The food was absolutely yummy!! I started drooling when they brought out the pho to the people next to me. I was gonna order some fried rice but THAT SMELL!!!! My Pho Dac Biet was off the chain!! High quality meat, clear water, enough to fill up one hungry hungry hippo. My fav spot in OKC!!

    Really impressed. First,my server was friendly and very attentive. Second, the prices are reasonable. Third, the food came out promptly. Fourth, the egg rolls (2 for $2.99) were among the best I have ever tasted. I ordered those plus the Shanghai Shrimp off lunch menu for $7.99. It came w/ choice of soup. I ordered miso soup, which was great. Shanghai had nice clean taste. I seasoned it up with table condiments. I looked around and wanted to try everyone else's dishes on my next visits. Oh, my server was Leon. Great server.

    VII is okay at best. I decided to stop by here for a quick second taste because my first visit I was actually impressed but unfortunately this visit left me yearning for the California pho of Little Saigon (aka Westminster) or the SGV. Compared to California, this place is lacking. Compared to other pho places in OKC I may have to disagree with this one being the best and this is why: I ordered a P7 and my mom ordered a P1. The pho came out steaming warm not hot like I expected - you need it hot to cook the meat and the vegetables. Unfortunately as we chowed down for dinner my mom commented on how tough the meat was, it's unfortunate to have tough chewy meat in your pho especially from the thinly sliced beef. Strike three, the broth was way too salty. Days from eating here I'm still reaching for water (exaggeration) but it definitely left me craving lots of water afterwards. Maybe we came on a chef's off day but the broth here was very one dimensional and too salty. The broth should be light, not overpowering, and savory without being heavy on the salt. It's possible to get good broth without sacrificing the salt shaker. Unfortunately I wasn't impressed with my visit. Personally I would visit other places before this one, there are some good oldies and some good new ones around the OKC area. With some changes to the recipe this place has potential.

    VII is a-okay, indeed. The service is... good? It seemed like whoever was around at the time would take your order, bring it to you, or refill your drink. Which is fine. Though, I think it might have been a reason that we didn't get our spring rolls until after our meal arrived, and we asked for them again. A couple of the servers seemed a little rusty with English, but there wasn't an impossible language barrier. The food was alright. If I make a return visit, I'll try some other things and update the review if necessary, but for now 'a-okay' suffices. The cashew and almond chicken was a solid 3/5. There was nothing spectacular about it compared to many other places I've eaten a similar dish, but it was tasty. The spring roll (2/5) was certainly interesting. It looked really neat. I was not expecting a translucently wrapped roll with bean sprouts, shrimp, greens, and some sort of noodles. The greens portion is what made it weird for me. It had a kick to it, which was a strange mix for the rest of the roll.

    I love this place for Asian noodle soups. My brother, sister in law, and I always make a random trip here on Sundays after church. We usually decide between pho (beef noodle soup) or bun bo hue (spicy Asian noodle soup). It all depends on how I feel that day. Both broths are clear, non-clouu, and taste like the bone has been simmering in the broth for hours. The meat:noodle ratio is about 1.5:1 which is perfect. I hate getting a significant amount more of noodles compared to meat. They will serve a fresh side dish of vegetables. For appetizers, I always get the Vietnamese spring rolls or fried green beans!

    I know I wasn't alone in craving pho last week when it was insanely cold. When we finally got out of the house for all of our Friday night adventures, we started the night with an early dinner at VII. The vibe is upscale modern pho shop, and the place was spotless. I especially enjoyed the large glass window that allowed you to see into the kitchen. For its cleanliness alone this may be my new top pho stop. Our server Linda was perfect for us. She answered my questions without a hint of annoyance. In fact, when I told her what I was looking for, she knew exactly what I was after and pointed it out to me. (For the record, I wanted very basic pho with just the meat, no tendon, tripe, etc.). The regular was so big I can't imagine the large. We also had spring rolls (which I like but I prefer mine without pork) and the eggplant (which was delicious and better than most in terms of texture and sauce flavor). We also love that they have brown rice. The pho broth was exactly the right flavor for me, and the amount of noodles and meat was perfect. Fresh basil and a hint of jalapeno for me - temperature and spice just right. By the time we left at around 6 it was really filling up fast and they were getting busy. I'll definitely be back soon, and this will definitely become one of my new mainstays for pho.

    If you like Pho Lien Hoa but think it's a little loud, check out VII Bistro. Admittedly, the pho is better at Pho Lien Hoa, but it's just fine here, and they are so generous with the meat. Also, the spring rolls with grilled pork are delicious, albeit they overstuff them with noodles.

    Coming from Little Saigon in California, I am somewhat of a snob when it comes to Vietnamese food so I wasn't incredibly impressed by the food here. I entered and was greeted by a friendly waitress who sat me down right away. I ordered the hu tieu (I forgot which one). It came out pretty fast and I was pleasantly surprised that they did not skimp out on the meat and shrimp. Unfortunately, I was not feeling the soup. The soup basically makes the dish and it was really sweet and not as flavorful as I would have liked. I'll probably come back again if I crave Vietnamese food since the service was friendly and the place was extremely clean.

    Simply put, this place is now the best pho place in OKC. Pho lien hoa has decreased in quality for years as the crowds have grown, and those in the know know that this is OKC's current leader. The service leaves something to be desired, but the food is worth it.

    I could have sworn I had written a review of Vii Bistro before now! I think it is one of the best kept secrets in OKC. I originally found out about this place because it used to be more commonly known as the food truck Wok Stop. Remember? I used to love visiting them as a food truck, and actually miss having a food truck with fresh Chinese inspired hot dishes. They eventually became so successful that they quit the food truck business and opened a brick and mortar location: Vii Asian Bistro. I like the location. The decor inside is very nice, modern, and clean. It has lots of bright colors and is much nicer than your average Asian restaurant. I have tried several of their dishes by tasting other friend's plates and everything has been tasty and fresh. Their flavors are always spot on. But I always order the same thing. I always look at their menu and think "I should try something else" but I just can't help it. I am hooked on their Vii Spicy Chicken. It is what I always ordered at Wok Stop (then known as Wok Stop Spicy Chicken). I love the way it confuses my tongue. Is it spicy? Is it sweet? Is it sour? My tongue can't figure it out. But it is good. They cube up chicken breast and flash fry it. The batter is super light. In fact, I can't figure out how they do it. All I know is that I have never had more moist fried chicken in an Asian dish. Then they toss the chicken in the Vii Spicy sauce. It is very spicy, but flavorful too instead of just being hot. They have lots of chilis in it. I can't figure out anything else about the sauce, besides that it as a sweetness and a bit of sour to it, and green onions. But it is good! They offer white or brown rice with the entree for no extra cost. The brown rice is very fluffy. You can also upgrade for fried rice for $1 more. It is good, but not special. They offer 10+ entrees as lunch specials for only $7.99. It is a very generous portion of food, including shrimp with lobster sauce and the Vii spicy chicken, as well as rice. It really blows Pei Wei out of the water and is cheaper! Their menu offers selections like pho, glass noodle bowls, and Chinese specialties. Interestingly, they open at 9am because they have a big breakfast crowd that comes for pho. Every time I have gone there have been big tables of Asian families eating. Most recently, several of the tables were filled with older men eating pho and drinking hot tea. It seems their food is authentic and popular with people in the neighborhood. I hope they do well for them selves. There are so many asian restaurants in the area, but I really feel their food and nice decor sets them a part. It is now my go-to place for Asian cuisine.

    I've been waiting for this place to open up and the great wait is over! I didn't feel like eating out for lunch today, but I had something to return at the mall and thought some mall exercise would do me good during my lunch break. Since I was running low on gas, I took the surface roads to seek out a gas station selling gas for less then $3.00/gallon. Before I reached 711 on Classen, I called an audible and pulled into the VII parking lot. I was greeted by a pretty petite women who asked if I wanted a booth or table. She sat me at a table close to the kitchen opening and left me with a menu. I looked around the dining area and marveled at the clean, but colorful interior. Great booths with floral patterned cushions. Red and cream walls (to represent OU maybe?) and cute paintings hung along the walls. One side of the wall contained a small bar area with a flat screen TV and beautiful cream tiled back splash. The dark colored tables and chairs complimented the room really well! The menu contained a variety of Chinese & Vietnamese items. Pho, Bun, Rice, Chicken, Beef, Pork.... It was all there and cost anywhere from $7.99-$12.99 per plate. The spring rolls cost $3.99 for 2 pieces. Pho cost $6.99 for a small bowl. My server came by quickly and asked what I wanted to drink. I opted for a plain ice tea. So vanilla (all you 50 Shades readers will know what I mean!) After he came back, I asked him what he would suggest I get if I was looking for a light meal. He suggested their Pho. I wasn't really in the Pho mood, but for whatever reason I ordered my usual Pho Dac Biet. My veggie platter came first and I was super surprised to see that they gave you Saw Leafs! This was the first Pho place that I have been to in OKC that offered this yummy herb, so I was ecstatic beyond belief. Moments later my piping hot Pho came. My meat was semi rare and left to cook inside the broth. Cilantro and scallions were sprinkled nicely on top. I added all my fixins and took a sip. I have to say that I am no Pho expert, but the flavors were unmistakably rich, noodles thin and not over cooked and the veggies complimented my soup. Not bad! After I finished my meal, my waiter came by to ask how everything was. I told him how excited I was to check this place out and was impressed with the Saw Leafs and decor. He brought over one of the owners (the lady who took me to my seat) and told me she wanted to keep everything clean, especially with the large open window so patrons could see inside the kitchen. A little history lesson I learned today: I guess the original owner of Pho Hoa retired and sold the place to a new person who renamed it Pho Lien Hoa. The son of the retired owner took his dad's recipe here to VII and is a real stickler when it comes to authentic Pho. Did some research and found that the NY Times wrote about the OG Pho Hoa back in 2007. Very cool! I am a fan for now and hope to be converted after I taste some of the chinese dishes. Guess the whole losing 15 lbs thing won't happen as soon as I thought it would.

    I've been here 5 times now. The pho is among the best in town, if not the best. If you're a vegetarian or vegan and want to try pho, this is the place. My girlfriend loves the vegetable pho with vegetable broth. Super friendly service too! The atmosphere is pleasant, but it's the excellent food and service that will bring you back.

    Just another Asian restaurant in the Asian district. I have been waiting for an nice Asian restaurant with good quality food: the real authentic food. I don't mind paying extra. (but other ppl eating in Asian district may mind) I heard this place would be nice. And yes...the interior was nice....but the food is just very typical....nothing special. My friend said the Hu Tieu (clear noodle) was good. Sorry! It is not like the Hu Tieu I had in Vietnam...And there is no smoothie! (seriously! no smoothie)...For the food, I can give it a 2.5 star. I understand they can't make the good quality food with that price in the Asian district...Plus they have a nice restaurant...So I will give it a 3 star I guess I am picky with my Asian food.

    Bistro 7 has a lot of potential but it definitely still has that "new restaurant, a ton of issues to work on" vibe. I am just going to do a simple pros and con list for you all of the cool Yelpers out there (I ordered the Pho Dac Biet and my girlfriend got a rice dish. Pros: Very nice setting. Easy parking spots, nice clean shopping plaza, The interior decor is refreshing. Not all the walls are the same colors (or even material), interesting paintings. Pho broth sticks out in a positive way. They offer a super sized bowl of pho, albeit for $12 but I'm willing to pay the premium to get my Pho on! Average fresh veggies and table setttings. Average meat quality in their pho. Some pieces were very chewy. My gfs rice dish was good though not amazing. The dishes took much longer to come out than I'm normally use to at a Vietnamese restaurant but I'm not going to nitpick about that. Cons: The noodles in the extra large bowl of pho were of low quality. It seemed like they haphazardly boiled the noodles without much care. There were many big clumps of noodles fused together. I felt like the bowl needed more broth. Rice noodles quickly soak up the broth so my bowl quickly resembled a dry pho noodle dish as opposed to a soup dish. *I almost dropped this place to a 2 because of this last Con but I don't want to do that to a new business so hopefully they read this and rectify the Con below. Our waiter was presumably one of the owners because he had that vibe about him. Sometime after taking our order, I noticed he was sitting down at a table in the middle of the restaurant eating with other people... ok.... From my vantage point I could see many other customers who noticed the same thing and I'm sure they all had the same puzzled look that was on my face. To make matters even worse, one table he was serving waived him over for some actual service. He quickly got up and went to attend to the table... with his mouth full of food... I could tell the customers who waived him over had this awkward disgust feeling overcome them while he was answering their questions with all the food pushed up to one side of his mouth so he could actually speak.. so dumb.. Where are your manners and commonsense Mr. Boss guy in the blue buttonup shirt with black rimmed glasses? Go eat in the back if you are going to eat while at work or at least sit at a more obscure table... fail dude... (I hope you read this and positively accept criticism).
